There are several easy to add mods which would be good practice for the entry level hf radio enthusiast. This is a unique radio and one that can be a lot of fun to work and modify. I have tried to define and describe the radio as best I can. You can find metal cabinets on from time to time.
It comes with a microphone which is not original. It has the rs 323 cat control cable is easy to build, a full 100 watts , etc.
Add a time wave DPs 9 always found on, a simple cw keyed and you even have a decent radio for entry level contesting. For sale is a clean, used, functioning heath sb 1400 which is based on the yaesu ft once it is packed securely and shipped, it is out of my hands. It does have a minor blemish on top of the radio cabinet which is plastic.
It is complete with the companion sba speaker power supply. It is fully functional. This radio was given to me as a parts radio.
This radio is the perfect entry level radio for somebody who may be interested in hf but may not want to spend a lot of money. All it needed was a new memory battery, controls cleaned lubed and a very slight alignment.
