This unit is not for everyone since it an accessory and a necessity. This does not need any external power supply it has its own and is actually a solid-state transistorized integrated circuit design. This can be used with the vintage Heathkit sb multi-band transceivers and stand alone transmitter receiver. The technology used in this unit reflect tremendous progress compared to radios that it is with.
The SB-650 frequency display was one of latest additions to Heathkit sb line as far accessories went and came into being about 10 years after radios. The power cord is original but in great, safe condition. I see no reason why it would not work on the Haw line transceivers either but never tried.
It is not a frequency counter. This is a functioning Heathkit SB-650 frequency display. It takes outputs from the transceiver and calculates output frequency instead of measuring. It is very clean.
But, for the ham who wants a complete Heathkit station, this is an excellent and hard-to-find addition. The displays light up and I think that it is fully functional but as with a lot of these old items, do not make any actual warranty. This particular unit is cosmetically excellent with only slight fading of the paint and in marred slightly on one corner. I used it on a sb-102 transceiver for while but have not actually with radio couple of years.
This unit is worth some money but do your research and look at the photos of fine old before you bid.
